Lol, she looks so pissed...I envy the amount of ruffles you could fit in without making it look tacky. Usually when I try something like that, my sketchbook is like: "error #687: ruffles look gay"
The only thing is, on the hand, It looks like her thumb would have to stretch impossibly far to be able to wrap it around the other side of her waist. It could be fixed easily, maybe just make the first ruffle puss out a little less to fit her thumb in. Can you see what I mean? Other than that, the hand looks really nice; very bendy and fun and ...cool?
It's... it's halloween town. XD You have to be realistic about where ruffles would usually go... The ruffles up by her neck is part of an actual victorian shirt people used to wear, so it looks relatively normal! And the ruffles on the skirt... Those are just layers of the skirt. XD
I wasn't exactly going to make her hand hold her side like that, it was supposed to be like just pressing the heel of her palm onto her waist- and the thumb was hidden... But if it looks the other way to you I should probably alter it a little. UuU Thanks for all the critisizm~ It helps a lot!

NO! WRONG! I SAID IT'S; Smiley faces, rainbows, and unicorns, BITCH!
Hmm, hmm. I guess to not be gay you actually have to fit in some logic, not just throw ruffles anywhere...-dead-
Well if you put it that way, it makes sense; I think it just looks like she has her hand holding her side because of the way her fingers are bent, y'know?
Yup! Your drawings have to have some sort of logic, or it doesn't make sense! OH. Like if the sleeves weren't open like a kimono's, they could be smaller, and have a small amount of ruffles! Or how ever I could explain the look! It's fine, you'll get it!
*nod nod* Yup. I'm still free lancing on hands >_>; I have to work on seeing what others might see.

Yus, indeed; best way to learn is to draw crap for a while then actually do some thinking and find out it looks good. Yeah, I've always had trouble on drawing victorian type things like that; when I was little I never did any research on anything so I'm sure with a bit of studying it'd be much easier!
You're doing great on hands! I remember once you telling me how you always hid your hands since they looked all crappy; so I;m so proud :3
Uh huh! But you can't force everything on yourself too fast, or you'll just get frustrated! You have to be calm, and let it come to you. Like if you see a certain artist drawing something amazingly punky with spikes and chains everywhere and you're like 'Hey that's cool, I wanna try it!' You can't try to make something as equally out there, just gotta take it slow. I practiced with ruffles for awhile, but I didn't pay too much attention to it. For me at least, I take time to let it all sink!
Aw thanks! <3 <3 Yeah, I ALWAYS hid my hands. XD Now it's like- YAY

For those who have many watchers, and for those who dont have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Project Comment is a project that features the generally obscured and underappreciated artists and their art in regular news articles. Our objective is to recognise deviants who deserve more recognition and to feature deviations with less than 10 original comments.
The 0-5 Comments Issues feature a deviant as well as 3 deviations with less than 5 original comments from a wide selection of art. Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here.
